Market selection advice

Print Friendly Refer a Friend

Our export advisers can help you choose a market, which is a critical first step to formulating your export marketing strategy. They will interview you to clarify your needs and objectives and suggest markets for you to target.

You will need to provide us with marketing materials and an outline of your export plans, including your ideal partners, key products/services and time frames. Most important is your 'value proposition' – this must be clear to ensure that our teams understand how your product differs from others and any extra value it offers.

This information will be sent to a handful of Austrade ICT industry network members in selected countries. They will send you a Market Assessment Report that may contain:

  • An informal opinion about market conditions and the likely prospects of your products or services.
  • An overview of known access difficulties.
  • Advice on regulatory issues.
  • Recommendations on your next steps and Austrade can help you further.

The report should help you prioritise markets, and may enable you to refocus your efforts on short-term markets with high growth potential rather than competitive, long-term markets where established success is crucial for market entry.

For help selecting overseas markets, please contact Austrade on 13 28 78 or email info@austrade.gov.au.
